According to statistics from China Customs, the country delivered US$2.6 billion in exports of pharmaceutical products during the first four months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 4.7 per cent, with US$700 million of the total recorded in April, up 2.7 per cent over a year before. For the first four months, domestic foreign-funded drug producers sold US$1.12 billion worth of drugs abroad, up 21.5 per cent compared with the same period last year, and accounting for 43.1 per cent of total pharmaceutical exports.
