The 8th Convention on Pharmaceutical Ingredients and International Contract Services Expo China (CPhI & ICSE China 2008) and the Pharmaceutical Machinery and Equipment Convention China 2008 (P-MEC China 2008) will be held in Shanghai between June 24-26.
CPhI & ICSE China, now into its eighth year, has become the highest-level and largest-scale international event of its kind in Asia, actively promoting the growth of the Chinese active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) sector and the whole pharmaceutical industry. |

The 75,000-square meter exhibition, occupying 22 per cent more space over last year, showcases 1,600 companies from at least 20 countries

and regions.
Some countries including Italy, Spain, Japan and South Korea will participate in this event with exhibition groups, demonstrating the event’s strong influence in the industry.
After 4 years of development, P-MEC China, which will be held during the same period, has expanded its scale, with 280 name companies having taken booth space. Exhibitors include those showcasing packaging equipment, laboratory products, preparation machinery, API machinery, sophisticated detecting instruments and new packaging materials.
Various events including for the selecting of the “Innovation Awards” will be launched in this year’s event, in a move to promote technology innovation in the industry. |

technology innovation in the industry. An exhibition room, under the banner of “Independent Innovation of Chinese Enterprises & Intellectual Property Rights Protection”, will be set up for award-winning products.
During the event, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products will team up with State Food and Drug Administration, Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry, China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and other organizations to launch “2008 China & World Pharmaceutical Forum”, a forum to discuss topics such as trends in the global pharmaceutical market. In addition, exhibitors will launch more than 30 technology exchange conferences, to introduce latest products and cutting-edge technologies to visitors. |
