Elder Pharmaceuticals is engaged in the manufacture of a wide range of pharmaceutical products through research and development, it is also in the manufacturing and marketing of diverse products through licensing agreements with international pharmaceutical companies.
The company is also engaged in the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Plants
Elder has manufacturing facilities in Nerul, Pawane and Patalganga (all in the state of Maharashtra). While the Patalganga plant is USFDA- compliant, the one at Nerul is WHO-approved.

Portfolio
Elder has a strong portfolio of brands - Shelcal, Eldervit and Chymoral among others – that are leaders in their respective therapeutic segments and manufactured in various dosage forms like tablets, capsules, injections and liquids.

Elder, which has it's headquarter in Mumbai, is ably supported by branch offices in Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi. It has sales depots in almost every state in the country.
It enjoys an export house status with shipment being made to African and South Asian countries.
Its shares are listed on the Mumbai and National stock exchanges and enjoys a market capitalization of Rs. 142.41 cr (BSE) as on 31 st March 2004.
In view of its growing exposure in formulations and generics, Elder made a proactive backward integration into the manufacture of APIs with the objective to control quality at all stages, strengthen logistics management and reduce costs.

increasingly competitive. Besides, these, API products are not only intended for captive use but marketed to other users so that it emerges as an independent profit center.
Over a peroid of time, the company expects to build on its API competencies and manufacture generic formulations for the regulated markets.
Elder commissioned an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient plant at Patalganga (Maharashtra) in line with USFDA requirments.
Over the years, Elder has been amnufacturing APIs like anti-bacterial, anti-hypertension, anti-diabetic and anti-epiletic therapeutic segments, substituting high cost imported raw materials.
In line with its growing products and therapeutic focus, what was once intended for captive availability now expects to extend to the supply of APIs to international pharma major looking for cost and high quality solutions.
